A 1:1 menternship provides personalised guidance tailored to your goals and interests. You get focused, direct feedback and support, helping you tackle challenges more effectively. This close relationship also boosts your confidence, enhances learning, and opens doors to valuable networking opportunities.

Once you are accepted into our 1:1 menternship program and have completed enrollment, the Lyghthouz Matching Team will search through our database of Lyghthouz mentors and hand pick the perfect mentor for you and your specific project. You will receive your match within 1-3 weeks of enrolling.

While some students enter the 1:1 program with a very clear project topic in mind, many of our students do not. That’s why we created Xplorers – a three session add-on program that can be bundled with the 1:1 Program.

Students who are enrolled in the Xplorers + 1:1 Program bundle begin with meeting with 3 different mentors who each specialize in the subjects that the student is interested in focusing their project on. Students work with each mentor to gather inspiration for possible project ideas and workshop through ideas together.

After that, students have a Reflection Session with a Lyghthouz-trained educator designed to synthesize what the student learned from each of their mentors, and help students converge at one specific 1:1 project idea they feel excited about.

The student will then begin their 1:1 Project, matched with a mentor whose expertise can support this project idea.

We also encourage students to explore the past projects section to gain inspiration from other students who have already completed the 1:1 program.

Due to the nature of this program, we currently do not offer refunds.

Yes, we offer partial merit cum need-based scholarships for 1:1 program. We also offer a limited number of full scholarship opportunities through our Lyghthouz Scholarship Fund, in exceptional cases.

We offer ‘Refer & Earn’ policy in which case you receive 10% discount on the next program fees, if the student referred by you successfully completes enrolment & full payment.

Our mentors are generally proud of their students and what they’ve accomplished but it is up to their discretion to write them. Assuming you complete your project in a satisfactory manner, your mentor will be happy to provide you with a recommendation letter (supported by Lyghthouz) either for your university applications or future research or job opportunities.

Once you’ve submitted your application, you would be required to meet online with our Admissions Head for an interview. If you receive a request for an interview, please make sure to schedule your interview as soon as possible to ensure a quick review of your application.

Turnaround time for application reviews varies month-to-month and depends on the volume of applications received for that cohort. Our team strives to follow up with students about their admissions decision within 3 days (max 2 weeks) of the application deadline. Once enrolled in the program, it can take up 1-3 weeks to be matched with a mentor.

To ensure you can utilize the live sessions to understand & execute your project, Lyghthouz will provide all enrolled students with a Domain Handbook with all the domain specific fundamentals, about 2 weeks ahead of your project start date. The fundamentals take a few hours to be completed and have been compiled by senior industry subject leaders. You would be expected to go through the handbook before your project’s first session.
